Stony Brook Long Island is home to three 55 and over active adult communities. The Oaks, Strathmore Gate and The Knolls are all situated in the Town Of Brookhaven on The North Shore of Long Island, and can be reached North of Route 347.

The Oaks at Stony Brook is a unique 55+ community. It is the smallest and newest of the 3 communities. The neighborhood at The Oaks consists of approximately 45 homes run by a Homeowner’s Association. All the units are a Ranch Floor Plan and include full basements and 2 car garages.These features are in demand by empty nester’s wanting more storage space, and they are hard to find in 55 and over communities here on Long Island. Built in 2005, The Oaks is surrounded around Oak Run, and each unit includes central air conditioning, gas heat, and backyard patio.
